August ’24 Transit Service Changes
Welcome aboard! We’re excited to continue rolling out our Forward Together Revised Service Concept, with service improvements designed to increase ridership and create better connections to jobs and services for people with low and limited incomes. Forward Together was developed with the community in response to travel changes brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Improvements for fall 2024 include:

New, changed and discontinued routes
Glisan/Troutdale Rd
We’re extending service to Reynolds High School and Mt. Hood Community College, with buses coming more often, more hours of the day, every day.
Lake/Webster Rd
We’re adding midday service to help the community access the Clackamas County Lake Road Health Center.
Hall/Greenburg Rd
Stafford/Salamo
Willamette/Clackamas Heights
Linwood/River Rd We’re extending Line 34 to Clackamas Heights via Holcomb Blvd and to Clackamette Cove via Main Street.
We’re extending Line 76 to the Oregon City Transit Center via Borland Rd, I-205 and Willamette Falls Dr.
We’re launching Line 153-Stafford/Salamo to provide a new connection between West Linn and Lake Oswego.
Line 154 will be discontinued with replacement service on lines 34-Linwood/River Rd, 76-Hall/Greenburg Rd and the new Line 153-Stafford/Salamo.

Tacoma/Swan Island
Swan Island
Macadam/McLoughlin
Macadam/Greeley We’re launching Line 40-Tacoma/Swan Island to connect Swan Island, Rose Quarter, Downtown Portland and the SE Tacoma St/Johnson Creek MAX Station. Line 40 will replace lines 85 and 99 and Multnomah County’s weekday evening Swan Island Shuttle.
Line 35 riders: Line 40 will also replace Line 35 via Riverside service to the S Macadam & Sellwood Bridge stops. Riders will be able to transfer between Line 35 and Line 40 at the S Macadam & Nevada stops.
Line 85 will be discontinued with replacement service on the new Line 40-Tacoma/Swan Island.
Line 99 will be discontinued with replacement service on the new Line 40-Tacoma/Swan Island.
MAX Red Line Extension
Happening Wednesday, Aug. 28: Our 10-station extension of the MAX Red Line officially launches! A soft launch of service happens Aug. 25, so you’ll see trains running on the extension before the official opening.
Late-Night/Early-Morning MAX Service
We’re introducing bus service that will run in place of MAX trains during late-night and early-morning hours. This will allow for more overnight maintenance projects and fewer multi-day service disruptions to help improve your riding experience.
MAX Stations
The names of three MAX stations will change August 25th:
Fair Complex/Hillsboro Airport → Hillsboro Airport/Fairgrounds
Tuality Hospital/SE 8th Ave → Hillsboro Health District
Hollywood/NE 42nd Ave Transit Center → Hollywood/NE 42nd Ave
